In the secondary phase, we are also aware that some of our Muslim students prefer to be more modest in their appearance than our school skirt and PE kit might allow.
In the case of PE, please speak directly with the PE staff who can advise regarding modesty options. For day-to-day school uniforms, girls can wear full black tights (with feet – not ankle tights that have the appearance of contemporary leggings). These can be for example 60+ denier from any outlet shop which are dark enough in colour not to be see-through– eg Marks and Spencer. They do not need to be woollen and can be of a lightweight texture.
